Stephen Colbert rick-rolls Devin Nunes: 'He sucks'

Stephen Colbert took aim at Republican U.S. Representative Devin Nunes Wednesday night, criticizing the House Intelligence Committee chairman in charge of the “alleged investigation into the alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. Allegedly.”

“A lot of Democrats are demanding he step down because...he sucks,” Colbert said during his Late Show monologue. “The specific sucking in question involves Nunes’ unsubstantiated claims that he’s seen documents from a secret source that he met at the White House proving that Trump aides were incidentally caught up in government surveillance of foreign agents. But it’s not about Russia, and he won’t tell anyone the specifics.”

Nunes has not revealed who he met with, and Colbert says the congressman “wants to publicly assure his source that he’s never going to give him up.”

Cue a “public statement” Colbert says Nunes made earlier in the day, which turns out to be a portion of the music video from Rick Astley’s 1987 No. 1 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

Mimicking Astley’s dance moves, the late-night host said he agrees with Democrats: “He really should rick’-cuse himself.”
