Stephen Colbert lambastes 'child-harassing psychopath' Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Thursday, Colbert ruthlessly mocked Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after several stories about the QAnon believer came to light. Greene has supported conspiracies about the school shootings in Parkland, Florida and Newtown, Connecticut, and in 2017, made a video in which she claims that the mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 58 dead was a set-up by activists to promote gun control. Earlier this week, a video surfaced of Greene harassing Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.
“Okay, that looks stupid and cruel,” Colbert said after playing some of the video, “but that could just be a false flag operation by antifa to get us to think Marjorie Taylor Greene is a child-harassing psychopath.”
Greene has also advocated violence against prominent Democrats, including executing Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In response to a 2018 Facebook post by Greene, a commenter asked about it being time they can hang Obama and Clinton. Greene replied, “Stage is being set. Players are being put in place. We must be patient. This must be done perfectly or liberal judges would let them off.”
“Holy haul ‘em to The Hague, Batman. She’s not even trying to be discreet,” Colbert said in response. “At least mobsters use coded language.”
Colbert went on to have a lot of fun with Greene’s 2018 assertion that “lasers or blue beams of light” from space caused recent California wildfires.

KYLIE MAR: On "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Thursday, Colbert ruthlessly mocked Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene after several stories about the QAnon believer came to light. A video recently resurfaced in which Green is seen harassing a survivor of the Parkland school shooting, which she called a false flag. Green has also advocated violence against prominent Democrats. And when a supporter asked online if they get to hang Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Greene replied, the stage is being set.

STEPHEN COLBERT: Holy haul 'em to the Hague, Batman. She's not even trying to be discreet. At least mobsters use coded language. There's a reason the Godfather doesn't say this.

KYLIE MAR: Colbert also joined Democrats in condemning the appointment of Green to the House Education and Labor Committee.

STEPHEN COLBERT: Oh come on! The lady who denies school shootings is in charge of the schools? Why not just appoint surgeon General Joe Camel? Warning, smoking can make you dangerously cool.

KYLIE MAR: And Colbert had some fun with a 2018 conspiracy theory in which Green wrote that California wildfires were caused by lasers from space, or as she put it, "lasers or blue beams of light causing the fires."

STEPHEN COLBERT: That's an embarrassing way to admit you've never heard of lightning. And then the socialist lizard men shot jagged laser things out of the cloud. And that angered the sky so much it went, roar, and the sky wept. And then thanks to QAnon, the sky stop crying.
