This might be our new anthem of 2016! Talkshow host, Stephen Colbert did a parody of “It’s the End of the World as We Know It,” reworked for 2016 and, man is it amazing.

On Thursday’s episode of The Late Show, Colbert got all of his negative feelings about 2016 out via song. The host did his own rendition of R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It,” and it’s hilarious.

He even had R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe, help him out with the tune… sort of.

He tried to have him sing the memorable chorus, “and I feel fine,” but Stipe wasn’t having it.

Colbert also employed his guest, James Franco, to sing the song with him and together all three of these guys knocked it out of the park.

Colbert’s rendition touched on a lot of issues that 2016 has seen and man, it’s been an interesting year. The host sang about everything from Zika virus to “gender bias toilet seat.”

Seriously, he sings about the toilets.

There is also mention of Trump, copied speeches, Pokemon Go, and the pronunciation of “gif.” Basically it’s a super funny song that you need to listen to over and over again.

Our favorite line?

“Bitter on the Twitter with Ben as Batman,” Colbert sings and we can’t stop laughing.

And best of all, the entire song is in the same, upbeat melody that we all know and love. But be warned: This song can, and will, be stuck in your head all weekend.

2016 is almost over Colbert, so let’s just focus on 2017, right? With a new year there could be another cover song from the 52-year-old celebrity and we’re SO okay with that.
