Stepfather booked in LA boy's stabbing death

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say a 26-year-old man arrested in the stabbing death of an 11-year-old boy is the child's stepfather.

Officer Sarah Faden says the man was booked Tuesday for investigation of murder after being released from a hospital. His name has not been released.

The young victim died from his stab wounds Monday following a family dispute at an apartment in the Westlake District.

Investigators say the alleged attacker also was wounded during the struggle. He was taken to a hospital for treatment under police custody.

Two other people were in the home at the time of the stabbing. It was unclear how they were connected to the boy and his stepfather.
