Beyond 'Two Ferns': 'Step Brothers' actor plugs Obamacare

Funny or Die has released a new video in its ongoing collaboration with the White House to encourage young people to sign up for health care — this time without President Barack Obama, Zach Galifianakis or two ferns.

The new two-and-a-half minute video features actor Adam Scott reprising his role from "Step Brothers" as Derek Huff, the irritatingly successful older brother of Will Ferrell's Brennan Huff and vice president of "the biggest helicopter leasing company on the western seaboard."

"This is my brother Brennan, he sucks!" Huff declares. "You know what else sucks? Health insurance."

"Health insurance equals fear, and I'm not afraid of anything, bro," Huff continues. "I've had 14 concussions, and I like 'em. I don't even vaccinate my kids. Hey, they get polio, that's their problem. My primary care physician is Anthony Bourdain. I've been struck by lightning seven times. I find it erotic."

The spot also features cameos from Jeff Probst, Mark Cuban and Chris Daughtry, a nod to Scott's name-dropping "Step Brothers" character.

Earlier this month, Obama appeared on "Between Two Ferns," Funny or Die's intentionally awkward interview series hosted by Galifianakis. The pair traded one-liners throughout the six-minute video, which was shot in the White House Diplomatic Reception Room on Feb. 24.

"I have to know: What’s it like to be the last black president?” Galifianakis asked Obama.

“Seriously?" Obama replied. "What’s it like for this to be the last time you ever talk to a president?”

The White House defended the president participating in a mock interview, saying it was part of a push to promote the March 31 deadline for young people to sign up for health insurance on HealthCare.gov.

“In order to reach them, we have to, you know, be creative, and that's what we've done,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

The "Between Two Ferns" episode has racked up more than 20 million views in two weeks.
