Staying hot with low humidity this week

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Humidity remains at low levels for late May, so it feels more comfortable in the mornings and the evenings. It’s still quite hot during the day. Highs reach the low 90s today, but the heat index won’t be much higher than the air temperature.

Watch for a few quick, light showers to push through the Tampa Bay area late today and into the early evening. Today’s rain chance is just 20%. It drops to 10% tomorrow.

The heat builds through the end of the week with highs getting close to records. The lower humidity allows us to get some relief when we’re in the shade on these hot afternoons.

We don’t feel the humidity return until the weekend and into early next week.

Rain chances remain limited through the weekend, and there will only be a few afternoon showers around for Memorial Day with a 20% rain chance.
