Stay in one of the world's most remote and Instagram-worthy locations for free

People like to say that they're "off the grid" when they don't check social media for a week.

Residents in the town of Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland probably laugh at that expression.

Want to stay there for free? Keep reading.

Your clickbait senses might be tingling, but we're dead serious here. Hotels.com has an impressive new addition to their #RemoteAF destination listings — Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland is one of the world's most remote towns — and Hotels.com will help you stay there for free.

The travel site is celebrating by covering the tabs of the room stays for the entire month of March 2019 — all it takes it entering code "REMOTE" when you opt to pay online. (You'll have to cover 1% of your tab and air fare, but still. When has a travel site ever offered to cover your hotel before?)

This little town is sandwiched between the Northeast Greenland National Park, the world’s largest national park, and the world's longest fjord system. Considering it takes two plane rides, a (jaw-dropping) helicopter ride, and an ATV ride just to get there, remote AF is an understatement. See for yourself:

You know that friend whose Instagram feed is full of travel photos? We can almost guarantee she hasn't been here.

Remoteness doesn't have an official measurement, but let's assume that two big factors are ease of transportation and population size. Aside from one-way shuttles to the heliport, Ittoqqortoormiit's transportation options are slim. There are no trains, no buses, and certainly no rental cars — but some adorable sled dogs will be happy to get you where you need to go.

If you'd rather go by population, Ittoqqortoormiit is home to about 450 residents — most high school graduating classes are larger than that. It's about as cut off from the rest of the world as possible, but that just ups the Instagram opportunities even more.

Your vacay will include a stay in quaint ocean-view room in a seven-room guesthouse (it's the only hotel available here, so it's sure to fill up fast). Go for a paddle in a kayak, catch up with the locals, or expand your food palate with a fancy muskox dinner. Views of the breathtaking Northern Lights are a nightly norm, and that once-in-a-lifetime chance seems reason enough to go.

Note: Most activities will be done outside, and the temperature high for March is around 7 degrees Fahrenheit. Plan accordingly.

This is truly what dreams are made of, offering you the chance to cross numerous things off your travel bucket list at once. If you're free to adventure in March, head to the listing on Hotels.com, select your dates, choose to pay online, and enter “REMOTE” to redeem the offer. This could also make a incredible holiday gift for a frequent traveler on your list — we'd bet they haven't been here yet.

Bon voyage, or as they say in Greenlandic: Angalalluarina!
