Like an aggressive Halloween trick-or-treat, a courageous Australian service station attendant has defended himself from would-be robbers by pelting candy at them.

The attempted hold up took place early Sunday morning the town of Aberdare in the state of New South Wales, according to the Maitland Mercury.

A man wearing a balaclava and brandishing a metal bar copped it sweet in the CCTV footage, as the brave attendant threw both bags and fistfuls of candy at him through the store's entrance.

The man then quickly gave up his robbery attempt, fleeing in a black Hyundai car he arrived in, with two other accomplices.

The car was later found burnt out in nearby Bellbird, and police are still investigating the incident.

Talk about an improvised weapon, hey.
