State police investigating shooting involving two cars on I-384

State police are investigating a shooting involving two cars on Interstate 384 in Manchester in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Troopers learned of the shooting just before 12:40 a.m. when they were contacted by the Manchester Police Department, who said officers were approached by an individual who said their rear window was shot out on the highway, according to Connecticut State Police.

The victim told authorities the shooting happened on I-384 West near Exit 1 while they were driving a black Acura RL sedan, state police said. No injuries were reported.

According to state police, preliminary information suggests the shooter was driving a gray BMW 3 Series sedan.

“This appears to have been an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time,” state police said in a statement.

Troopers are investigating and seeking any witnesses or motorists with dashboard camera footage in the area at the time of the shooting.
