The State of Marriage Equality, in 1 Map

The New Yorker has a fantastic interactive map charting out the eight possible outcomes of today's gay-marriage decisions at the Supreme Court. Moments ago, the court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act banning federal recognition of same-sex marriages; it also threw out the case on California's Proposition 8 on standing. This leaves us with the following outcome:

While the federal government will now recognize same-sex marriages in the orange-colored states, it's up to the other states to determine whether they will now legalize marriage equality for themselves.
