State Game Wardens to patrol Lake Nasworthy over Memorial Day weekend

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — State game wardens will be out in force at Lake Nasworthy this Memorial Day weekend, ensuring boaters comply with safety regulations. Boaters are reminded to have a life jacket for everyone on board and a functional fire extinguisher.

Game wardens will assist boaters in distress and monitor for those who may be impaired. Texas Game Warden Jade Carter emphasized the importance of preparation and safety.

“If you are getting out for the first time this year, make sure you check your boat and go over everything before you put it on the water,” Carter said. “Ensure you have enough life jackets for everyone on board and check your fire extinguisher, as they can go bad from year to year. Make sure your boat is operating properly to avoid accidents or breakdowns.”

Carter also advised caution regarding sun exposure and swimming distances. “Be careful about overdoing it, whether it’s too much sun or trying to swim out farther into the lake than is safe,” he said.

Authorities urge all visitors to prioritize safety to ensure an enjoyable holiday weekend.
