Starbucks Worried Climate Change Means No More Coffee

Starbucks has a new threat for climate change skeptics: you have to choose between cutting carbon or cutting your caffeine addiction. The Guardian writes on Friday that the Seattle-based company is worried that its supply chain of the Arabica coffee bean is threatened by changes in global weather patterns that include severe hurricanes, mudslides, pest infestations, and irregular rain patterns. "If we sit by and wait until the impacts of climate change are so severe that is impacting our supply chain then that puts us at a greater risk," a company exec tells The Guardian. "From a business perspective we really need to address this now, and to look five, 10, and 20 years down the road."
