Starbucks is planning to open a location in Brown Deer, at 60th Street and Brown Deer Road

If you're in search of a new coffee spot in Brown Deer, look no further than the former Blood Center building site. You'll have to wait a few months, but by September, it will be transformed into a Starbucks.

In recent months, Brown Deer's village board approved architectural plans for a multi-tenant retail building in place of the former Blood Center at 5960 W. Brown Deer Road.

The new development will place a Starbucks at the forefront and feature two other tenants who have not yet been announced, according to village board agendas.

There is not currently a Starbucks location in Brown Deer, according to the Starbucks website.

Demolition of the Blood Center building was finished in early May, according to Brown Deer's May 3 newsletter. The site at 5960 W. Brown Deer Road is the location of a proposed Starbucks and two other tenants that have not yet been announced, according to village documents.

The expected opening for the Starbucks is September, Community Development Director Nate Piotrowski said.
