Starbucks, local law enforcement team up to raise money for Special Olympics

FRESNO, Cali. (KSEE/KGPE) – Special Olympics Northern California partnered with Starbucks and local law enforcement agencies on Friday, hosting a fundraiser at over 40 Starbucks locations in the Central Valley.

The “Badges with Buckets” fundraiser is part of efforts to fund free year-round programs.

Law enforcement personnel from numerous agencies joined Special Olympic athletes at the participating Starbucks locations. They greeted customers and collected donations for Special Olympics Northern California.

Special Olympics Northern California says the funds raised will help fund free year-round Special Olympics programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Central Valley and throughout Northern California.

While donations at participating Starbucks locations concluded at 1 p.m. on Friday, donations are still being accepted online here.
