Warning: This article contains Star Wars: The Last Jedi spoilers, naturally.

Unless you've been hidden on a remote island trying to shun the ways of the force and hanging out with Porgs, then you'll probably know that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out.

While the film summoned widely positive reviews, some of the fan reactions haven't been quite so positive, with one fan demanding it be refilmed and fans' Rotten Tomatoes score chalking up almost 40% less than the critics' count.

Nevertheless, there's still plenty more of The Last Jedi that we haven't seen. Digital Spy quizzed director Rian Johnson on the subject and he promised that the clips will end up on the DVD and Blu-ray release, but there won't be an extended edition.

It's thought that there's around 20 minutes of cut footage in the final movie and here's what you missed out on thanks to a huge compilation from Slashfilm.

Luke Skywalker's last lesson to Rey

Rey notices boats arriving to the island along with a big fire at the beach where they arrive. Luke tells her it's bandits that regularly raid the island and kill caretakers – those hilarious space nuns everyone loves. Sob.

Rey wants to help, but Luke tells her if she does then attackers will return with more forces and asks if she'll always be around to protect them. He claims a Jedi Knight would do nothing and only intervene in order to maintain balance, despite the fact others could be killed.

Rey ignores him and performs a force-charged run with her lightsaber, Luke tries to stop her, but she doesn't listen. When she gets to the beach it turns out the caretakers are just having a party with glowsticks

One of the caretakers and Rey match movements with their glowstick/lightsaber. She then spots Chewbacca and R2-D2 – who is wearing a party necklace – with some Porgs (of course) and says, "Seriously" to them.

Luke apologises to Rey – he was trying to show she is exactly what the Resistance needs, not an old failed religion. Rey is still angry, worried that her friends are dying and that she believed in the legend of Luke Skywalker that he hates.

Rey storms away and leaves Luke. Slashfilm reports that Lucasfilm Story Group didn't feel his actions were in line with the Jedi code and it made Luke seem like even more of a douche.

Finn almost caught on Snoke's ship

Tom Hardy's cameo took place during the section where Rose, Finn and DJ sneak into the ship dressed as officers. A stormtrooper looks at Finn in the elevator, then John Boyega's character tries to intimidate him, as he's dressed as an officer.

Hardy then says in a Southern accent: "I know who you are... FN 2187! Damn boy, I never took you for officer material!" This means that Finn's escape must have been hidden by the First Order – although this would contradict The Force Awakens somewhat and the fact Phasma is always barking about Finn ditching her.

Phasma and Admiral Holdo

Elsewhere, a scene where Captain Phasma shoots down six or seven of her own stormtroopers after Finn tries to get them to defect was cut. Meanwhile, Laura Dern's Admiral Holdo was made nicer to Poe with some extra dialogue dubbed over.

Finn and Rose's adventure in Canto Bight

Lots of small bits were cut from these scenes, including some of the 85 creatures created for the scenes and more of Rose's crush on Finn, with her showing some jealousy towards Rey, after Finn says he found something to fight for in his friend.

The pair also discuss their childhoods and discover they both had family taken by the First Order. The duo also crash through a bathhouse and scare a creature who almost drops his towel, but this was cut. Maybe for the best.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out now.
