Star Trek's Simon Pegg confirms there WILL be a sequel

From Digital Spy

Star Trek actor and co-writer Simon Pegg has confirmed there will be a sequel.

Earlier this month, Pegg said that he doesn't think Quentin Tarantino will be directing the next Star Trek.

However, in good news for Trekkies, he certainly believes there will be a Star Trek 4, even if it's not Tarantino's vision...

"I know we're doing more. I'd love to – I love those guys. It's, of course, difficult because we lost Anton [Yelchin] and moving forward without him still feels unimaginable," Pegg told The Quietus.

Previously, Pegg said of Tarantino: "I don't think Quentin is going to direct it, because he's got his California movie [Once Upon a Time in Hollywood] to do and then I think [he's] only doing one more film after that.

"I doubt – I don't think he could get around to directing a Star Trek in two-three years."

Spock star Zachary Quinto also recently said that there are a number of scripts in contention.

"There was a script being written before Quentin Tarantino came up with his idea for a potential film, and so I think they are kind of developing more than one," he recently said.

"I don't know what is going to happen. Quentin is off doing another movie. So, I feel like we are in a state of anticipation."

He went on: "I know Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, who wrote the last film, are writing a script. And there are another set of writers writing a script."
