Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Boys Prep of the Week
Hughson’s Carlos Guizar’s perfect afternoon helped lead the Huskies to their first win in the opening round of the 2024 Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs.
The Huskies, the No. 2 seed in the bracket, beat No. 7 Ben Holt College Prep 10-0 in six innings on May 8, led by Guizar’s 4-for-4 outing. The junior had two doubles, drove in four runs and scored a run.
The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Prep of the Week.
Guizar came in first, collecting 53% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Oakdale baseball player Eric Velazquez and Davis track and field athlete Diego Cibrian, who were second and third, respectively.
