Stan Lambert wins Republican nomination for District 71 seat

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Stan Lambert has won the Republican nomination for Texas House District 71.

During the primary elections Tuesday night, Lambert beat opponent Liz Case in the highly contested race by a vote of 53% to 47%.

Lambert will now go head-to-head with Democratic nominee Linda Goolsbee during the general elections in November, and the winner of that election will occupy the Texas legislative seat.

If re-elected, this will be Lambert’s fifth term to hold the office.

Both Case and Lambert’s campaigns were centered around hot-button issues such as school vouchers, healthcare, their residencies, and even past voting habits.
