STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said a 22-year-old man tried to evade deputies while driving 30 miles over the speed limit.

The man attempted to escape law enforcement on Richmond Highway at 2:28 a.m. Sunday by speeding up and refusing to pull over, SCSO said. Deputies started pursuing the driver, Edward Kargbo, of Drumford, when they noticed he was driving 65 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The chase lasted three miles before he finally pulled over in the 3800 block of Richmond Highway. Deputies said they found half a bottle of Hennessy in the car and Kargbo admitted to having had a few shots before driving.
