Stabbing in Lancaster County leaves one person injured

THE CITY OF LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — Police on Thursday responded to a stabbing in Lancaster County that left one person injured.

According to Lancaster City Police, they were dispatched to a McDonald’s on 210 West King Street on April 18 for a reported stabbing.

Police say they arrived on scene and located a victim with a single stab wound to the chest. The incident reportedly took place near the water fountain at 1 Penn Square.

The incident was captured by the Lancaster Safety Coalition video and police were able to identify the suspect as Jonathan Matos. Matos was taken into custody and was in possession of a bloodied knife.

Changes coming to Real ID in Pennsylvania

Police say the video showed Matos on the South West corner of the Square yelling at people. The stabbing victim was then seen speaking with Matos before being ‘jabbed’ directly in the chest.

The victim was taken to the local hospital and the wound is considered non-life-threatening.

Matos was charged with Aggravated Assault before Magisterial District Judge Bender. He’s being held on $500,000 bail in the Lancaster County Prison.
