St. Louis Public Schools pays parents to drive kids to class

ST. LOUIS — Parents can get paid to drive their children to school amid a bus driver shortage. St. Louis Public Schools has begun offering gas cards to families affected by “chronic bus absenteeism” throughout the school year. This initiative was detailed in a letter sent to parents on Monday.

Starting May 13, all families who take on the responsibility of driving their children for the final two weeks of school will receive $75 each week. This move aims to alleviate transportation issues while the district continues to address the shortage of bus drivers.
