St. Louis Fans ready for another year of professional sports

ST. LOUIS — It’s the second go-round for Saint Louis sports fans to get to cheer on four professional sports teams all at the same time.

“Everyone loves their sports around here,” Blues fan Jacob Curvey told Fox 2 on Thursday.

The city was already one of the country’s most recognized sports towns and adding the Battlehawks and City Sc in the last few years has just added more passion to Gateway City.

“It brings the city alive,” Battlehawks season ticket holder Paul Falby said.

As the Cardinals kick off their season in Los Angeles, the Blues continue to fight for a playoff spot as the Battlehawks and City SC look to repeat historic seasons.

“It’s just nice having more teams to watch,” Cardinals fan Seth Brusewitz said.

The great thing about Saint Louis sports is that few if any teams can rival? All the teams are centrally located in downtown within a few blocks of each other.

“In St. Louis, you have all of this downtown,” William Burke said.

Burke, who was in town for the Blues game from Boston, admits it’s “a cool vibe,” having the city’s teams all downtown.

While no team may be a favorite this season, that doesn’t stop fans from hoping for the best.

“If we could come home with a World Series and a Stanley Cup in the same year, I think the city would be on fire,” Curvey said, laughing.

Fans could agree that the team with the best chance of winning a championship this year is likely the Battlehawks.

“I’m really {thinking} that the Battlehawks are going to win and we’re going to have a parade; it’s going to be nuts for spring football,” Falby said Thursday.
