St. Louis County man attacks roommate with sword: Police

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis County man is accused of attacking his roommate with a sword over the weekend.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the attack happened on May 19 at a home in the 2000 block of Penncross Court.

Police claim Angelus Scott (age not provided) made statements about slicing his roommate’s head before grabbing a sword and swinging it at him. The roommate was able to defend himself and avoid being cut or stabbed.

Police arrived a short time later, took Scott into custody, and confiscated the sword. A motive for the attack was not mentioned.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Scott with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. At present, Scott is being hospitalized for a mental health evaluation. Upon his release, he’ll be jailed on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
