Florida Highway Patrol said one dead in crash on Silverleaf Parkway

A 63-year-old man from St. Augustine died on Monday after he was involved in a crash on Silverleaf Parkway near State Road 16.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report, the driver was going around a roundabout when he failed to yield to on-coming traffic with the right-of-way.

He hit the right side of another car, losing control and colliding with two palm trees on the median.

FHP stated the driver died from his injuries from the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
