St. Charles Parish man arrested in connection to camp burglary

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A St. Charles Parish man was arrested in connection to a camp burglary.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet reported on Friday, March 8 that 47-year-old David White Jr. was arrested on multiple felony related charges.

On Feb. 27, deputies responded to a call about a burglary at a camp in the 8000 block of Redfish Street.

Through an initial investigation, deputies were able to get video surveillance footage connected to the investigation. TPSO detectives and the Criminal Patrol Division began an in-depth investigation into the incident and were able to identify a suspect car connected to the crime.

On Tuesday, March 5, the TPSO Criminal Patrol Division traveled to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, where authorities were able to locate the suspect car at a residence in the 100 block of Annex Street in Destrehan.

A search warrant was completed at the home, where White was located and taken into custody.  During the search, deputies said they recovered a large amount of property and evidence allegedly linking White to the crime in Terrebonne Parish, along with drugs, firearms, and drug paraphernalia, which led to White’s arrest in St. Charles Parish.

White was arrested for simple burglary and remains incarcerated in St. Charles Parish on unrelated charges and will be placed in the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at a later time.
