Springfield man arrested for DUI after hitting four vehicles
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A Springfield man is under arrest for aggravated DUI and other charges after police said he drunkenly crashed his car into four other vehicles and tried to leave the scene.
The crash and arrest happened Sunday night. Police officials said four cars parked in the area of 15th and Ash Streets were hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe around 8 p.m. and the driver ran away from the scene. Witnesses chased the driver until police arrived and took him into custody.
Officials said the driver is 49-year-old Antwione Craig and during his arrest, they said he demonstrated several signs of impairment.

Officials added that Craig has been arrested several other times for driving under the influence, including an arrest that happened six days earlier. Craig was released from custody under the conditions of the Pre-Trial Fairness Act and was placed on electronic monitoring.
As a result of this latest DUI offense and subsequent crash, Craig is facing charges of:
DUI as a revoked driver (with four or more offenses)
Aggravated DUI with a revoked or suspended license
Aggravated DUI of a vehicle not covered by insurance
Driving under the influence
Driving with a revoked license
Leaving the scene of an accident
Possession of marijuana
