Spring brings better moods

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — With spring right around the corner, everyone will soon hopefully see themselves in better moods.

Exposure to sunlight can help your body produce more serotonin and endorphins which improves your mood.

This is especially helpful for those of us who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures ahead!

“And they go out and their mood gets elevated. And this has a lot of effects on their personal lives, like relationship-wise, mood-wise, depressions… And it effects actually are very good on their personal and social lives,” said Dr. Hassan Jafary, a psychiatrist at Beckley Psychiatric.

Jafary also says that going outside in the spring for even half an hour can also help with your allergies and getting used to the increasing pollen in the air.
