Spoke and Vine Motel first in Palisade to connect to high-speed fiber internet

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Town of Palisade, working with the Colorado Division of Labor Affairs and Clearnetworx, went live with its first connection to fiber internet Tuesday morning.

Greg Mikolai, Palisade’s Mayor, tells WesternSlopeNow that lightning-fast internet and a clear connection help the whole community.

Clearnetworx, a local Western Colorado fiber internet provider, helped connect its first Palisade customer, Spoke and Vine Motel. Co-owner and operator Jeff Snook said consistent wifi is key for people who stay at their motel.

Jody Corey, co-owner and operator of Spoke and Vine Motel with Jeff, tells WesternSlopeNow the motel’s remote locks need wifi to update room codes and their POS systems also require wifi.

Jeff and Jody said they’re excited to be the first in Palisade with Clearnetworx’s massively improved fiber network.

Casey Irving, Clearnetworx Director of Business Development tells WesternSlopeNow that most of their staff are from the Western Slope and feel excited about the opportunity to help improve Western Colorado communities.

Irving said out of the roughly 2,500 people living in Palisade, 303 have already pre-registered for fiber internet. Fiber internet installations in Palisade will be ongoing.
