Split within Russian-led forces threatens to blunt Russian war effort, says ISW
The “LPR” fighters recently staged a revolt amid huge losses of Russian invasion forces in the war against Ukraine.

Their revolt was caused by the decision of the Russian leadership to send them to reinforce the fighters of another sham state let, the “Donetsk People’s Republic” (“DPR”).
ISW experts recall a number of other cases when the Kremlin-controlled proxy forces refused to fight outside Donetsk or Luhansk oblasts.
“Further division within Russian-led forces also threatens to further impede the efficiency of the Russian war effort,” the report says.
Other conclusions of ISW analysts about the situation in Ukraine over the past day:
Russian forces attempted several limited ground assaults northwest of Slovyansk;
Russian forces conducted multiple offensive operations east and southeast of Siversk and northeast and southeast of Bakhmut;
Russian forces continued conducting offensive operations northwest, west, and southwest of the city of Donetsk;
Russian forces conducted a limited ground assault north of the city of Kharkiv;
Russian and Ukrainian forces continued to trade accusations of shelling the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.
St. Petersburg authorities officially denied summoning local men to military recruitment and enlistment centers for discussions of contract service.
Russian occupation authorities continued preparations for the integration of occupied territories of Ukraine into Russia.
