Splish splash at splash pads

May 31—When the ocean is too intimidating for kids, there are always splash pads.

Ocean Beach Park in New London offers up its Kiddie Spraypark, for youngsters under age 8. The park asks adults to watch from the perimeter.

Nature's Art Village in Montville has its own Splash Pad, which its website describes as a "zero-depth water playground." In keeping with the dinosaur theme (this is the home of The Dinosaur Place, after all) , the site boasts more than two dozen features that have dino themes, including dinosaur water cannons and a spitting Stegosaurus.
