Spin control already happening before today’s health decision
Democrats and Republicans were already spinning the Supreme Court’s health care decision, in the hours before the Court issued its opinion on health care reform.

Reports started breaking on Wednesday afternoon that some Democrats were chiding the Court for potentially issuing a 5-4 verdict in the case that rejected President Obama Affordable Care Act.
The Court is incredible tight lipped about decisions and even veteran Court watchers don’t know how the decision will come down on Thursday.
The statements reported on the websites Politico.com and TheHill.com showed House Democrats obviously distressed by the possibility of the health care case being decided on party lines.
“We’ll find out if the Supreme Court is listening to the American people and following the U.S. Constitution, or if it’s becoming more and more like what we’ve seen in the past — a partisan body no different from Congress,” said Democratic Caucus Vice Chairman Xavier Becerra.
Comments from Becerra published on TheHill.com were a bit harsher.
Becerra said the decision will reveal “whether there are nine people in the Supreme Court who are going to try to do the bidding of special interests or who are actually listening to the needs of the American people guided by the Constitution of the United States.”
The Hill also obtained a Democratic fund raising letter that warned that if the GOP won the health care battle in the Supreme Court, “”dangerous Tea Party extremists will go on a rampage.”
House leader John Boehner was taking the approach that the Republicans should stick to a long-term plan of repealing the Obama health care plan in Congress (if the Supreme Court upholds it) and moving slowly to replace it (if the Court strikes down the law).
Boehner has publicly said the GOP shouldn’t “spike the ball” if it wins in court on Thursday.
Talking points obtained by Politico indicated that Boehner, Republican leadership and candidate Mitt Romney appeared to be on the same page, as for their message after the Supreme Court decision.
The Supreme Court will announce its decision shortly after 10 a.m. EST on Thursday.
