Spicer slams ‘fake news,’ cites a tweet that claimed Trump wasn’t using his earpiece during G7 summit

On May 30, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that “[President Trump] is frustrated — like I am and like so many others — to see stories come out that are patently false, to see narratives that are wrong to see quote-unquote fake news.” When pressed to list an example of fake news, Spicer referenced a tweet during the G7 summit last week that said Trump wasn’t using an earpiece to listen to a speech by Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
