Special election to choose new Bridgeton mayor today

BRIDGETON, Mo.- – There is a special election to choose a new mayor in Bridgeton today. The late Terry Briggs, who passed away in February, left the position open, and this election is to fill it.

Briggs had been elected to serve his fourth term as mayor in 2023. Now, Council Chair Randy Hein and Councilman Don Hood are the candidates competing to finish the remaining three years of Briggs’ term.

Voters in Bridgeton have the opportunity to cast their ballots at three different locations: the St. Louis County Board of Elections Office, the Bridgeton Trails Library, and the Bridgeton Recreation Center. Voting started at 6 a.m. and will continue until 7 p.m. tonight.
