A crime and gang ridden barrio is what America has become. Hispanics are part of the third-worlding of the U.S. Sickening and depressing. New York City is no longer an American city but a refugee camp. One article said up to 800 languages are spoken there. These people have no connection with America. They're invaders.
Who cares. Are you assimilated Americans or not?
I believe barrio is the Spanish word for ghetto.

What is vital?
The history of welfare leeches.

Harlem is considered safe now. Back then, it was a black zone and the Hispanics moving in didn't help either.
Why two television sets?

I lived in a Puerto Rican "barrio "in Philly for a year when I was in art school and found the whole experience to be a great one. There was some danger but most of my neighbors were wonderful and it gave me a glimpse into a (slightly) different way of approaching life which I use to this day.
For anyone unaware, the original Spanish Harlem is Puerto Rico itself, the ones that left and came to NYC were looking for a "better" place. Today Spanish Harlem 2 (NYC) is still "better" than the original
