Spanish Fork High safe after fight leads to lockout

SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC4)Spanish Fork High School was put on lockout out of precaution after four individuals were involved in a physical altercation on campus.

In a press release, the Spanish Fork Police Department said this happened around 10:25 a.m. Thursday, March 7.

According to police, three juvenile suspects, who are not students at Spanish Fork High School, came to the school and started a fight with a student there. They said it was reported that one of the individuals grabbed at his waistband, as if he may have a gun, however a gun wasn’t seen.
Police said by the time they responded, all those involved in the fight fled the scene.

Police determined there is not a credible threat at the school. The lockout was lifted at 11:53 a.m. There is still an ongoing investigation.

In a statement sent to ABC4, Nebo School District said:

Spanish Fork High School was placed into secure protocol (lockout) this morning while police searched for an individual involved in an altercation on school grounds. The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we respond to incidents as quickly and cautiously as possible.
We want to thank school staff, law enforcement, students, and families for their support during this situation.
