Spain set to send aid package with Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

The Spanish Ministry of Defense will complete the preparation of a new military aid package for Ukraine by June 30, which will include Leopard 2 tanks, El Pais reported.

The aid package will include large-caliber artillery ammunition, machine guns, protected vehicles, armored personnel carriers, anti-tank weapons, and howitzers, as well as the first 10 of 19 Leopard 2 A4 tanks that are under repair. Spanish companies will supply air surveillance systems and remote combat modules to protect against drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Madrid in the coming days to sign a bilateral agreement on security guarantees between Spain and Ukraine with Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, El Pais reported.
