Spain says it does not intend Gibraltar to hinder any Brexit deal

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain does not intend the issue of Gibraltar, a British territory on Spain's southern coast that will leave the EU along with the UK on March 29 next year, to hinder any Brexit transition deal, the Spanish government said. It also said that Madrid and the European Union's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier would stick to the current calendar that foresees finalizing Brexit negotiations before an EU summit in October.
