Southwest Charlotte road closed due to mulch pile fire: Charlotte Fire Dept.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A portion of Beam Road is closed while firefighters work to contain a mulch fire, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Officials reported the fire in the 3300 block of Beam Road around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. This is about 2 miles south of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and near Shopton Road.

Authorities have not said how the mulch pile caught fire.
