Southwest Airlines' general counsel is retiring
Southwest Airlines says general counsel will retire in February, insider to replace her
DALLAS (AP) -- Southwest Airlines Co. said Monday that its general counsel will retire Feb. 1 and be replaced by another lawyer for the Dallas carrier.
Madeleine Johnson, 58, joined Southwest in 2008 after serving as the Dallas city attorney and as a federal prosecutor in Texas. She also holds the title of vice president.
Johnson will be succeeded by Mark Shaw, 49, the airline's associate general counsel for corporate and transactions matters. He joined Southwest in 2000 after working for the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld LLP.
