Southern California residents arrested for allegedly slamming into Lathrop police vehicle

(FOX40.COM) — Officers in the city of Lathrop came close to being hit by a suspected stolen vehicle on Tuesday night, according to the Lathrop Police Department.

Reports were made around 10:45 p.m. of a stolen Dodge Charger from Oakley, California being spotted in the San Joaquin County city.

When officers arrived in the area where the vehicle was reportedly spotted, the Charger was spotted at a gas station on East Louise Avenue.

While attempting to approach the vehicle, the officers were spotted by the suspect who attempted to flee from law enforcement by ramming the Charger into one of the patrol vehicles.

After blocked the vehicle in officers took the driver and passenger into custody. Both of the suspects were found to be Southern California residents.

No officers, community members or the suspects were injured during the incident.

The suspects are now facing felony charges and have been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Oakley is located about 40 miles west of Lathrop.
