South SF janitor causes nearby schools to shelter in place

(KRON) — The South San Francisco Police Department arrested Timothy Nhok, a 37-year-old janitor and South San Francisco resident, on Tuesday for shooting a gun near several schools in the area, the department said.

At about 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 2400 block of Wright Court on the report of gunshots being heard. Due to the proximity of Nhok and the nearby schools, the schools were asked to shelter in “Secure Campus” mode, SSFPD said.

Further investigations revealed that Nhok’s shots fired were an isolated incident that occurred at a residence on the 2400 block of Wright Court. SSFPD detectives executed a search warrant of Nhok’s residence, locating two firearms, ammunition, and “illegal narcotics,” SSFPD said.

Nhok was then placed under arrest for the following:

  • Addict in possession of a firearm

  • Possession of narcotics for sale

  • Willful/grossly negligent discharge of a firearm

  • Child endangerment

He was later booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Kerrigan at (650) 877-8900.
