South Korean media: Subway accident injures dozens

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korean media say a subway train collision has injured dozens.

Police contacted Friday said they were checking the reports. Calls to emergency and subway officials weren't immediately answered.

South Korea's YTN TV station and Yonhap news agency said in separate reports that the collision happened in Seoul.

The reported accident comes as South Koreans criticize the government for regulatory loopholes and lax safety practices they feel led to a ferry sinking April 16 that has left more than 300 mostly high school students dead or missing.
