Suspect killed in SWAT call-turned officer-involved shooting in Southeast Austin
AUSTIN, Texas - A man is dead after a SWAT call in southeast Austin turned into an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.
APD says around 12:36 p.m., officers saw a stolen car near the intersection of Salt Springs Drive and Thaxton Road. The driver was inside a business, but refused to leave, prompting a SWAT call out.
Efforts to get him to surrender were not successful, APD says. At 5:19 p.m., APD updated the incident to an officer-involved shooting.

The man was shot and pronounced dead at the hospital.
APD says no officers or civilians were injured.
