The meat dress is back. But it’s not Lady Gaga wearing it.

South African socialite and performer Nonhlanhla Qwabe, better known as Queen Skolopad, attended the Feather Awards, South Africa’s version of the Teen Choice Awards, in a clear minidress. What made her dress kosher for the carpet? Packages of meat carefully covering her up. Wrapped into the dress like a sausage, she carried a bag of charcoal as a clutch.

Clearly, she’s ready to grill.

“[B]oss eat me,” she captioned a photo of the look on Instagram. She captioned another photo from the event with, “braai me [I’]m urs.” A braai is a South African barbecue.

When a reporter asked what inspired the look, she said, “pig meat,” adding, “People have been saying beef. I don’t like beef, I like wors,” which is short for boerewors, a South African sausage. She then implied that after the award show, she’d be putting her purse to good use at a braai, a barbecue joint.

The outfit could have something to do with a feud she has with another singer. According to the Huffington Post South Africa, Skolopad has used meat before as a metaphor for her relationship with fellow socialite Zodwa Wabantu.

“The beef is about to go from mincemeat to a new level,” she told TshisaLIVE during a sit-down interview, according to HuffPo. “Zodwa has made it clear that she has a problem with me, when I didn’t have a problem with her.”

Twitter’s reaction to the dress is almost as entertaining as the dress itself.

Some saw deeper meaning in the meat.

Well, if this award show is anything like the ones in the United States — long and foodless — we hope she brought enough to share with everyone.
