George informed the Pacers on June 18 that he would not re-sign with the franchise as a free agent in 2018, allowing Indiana to survey the trade market for a deal. In Oladipo and Sabonis, the Pacers have acquired an accomplished two-way guard and young big man, respectively.

George, 27, played seven seasons with the Pacers, averaging 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists. The three-time All-Star, three-time All-Defensive Team member and 2013 NBA Most Improved Player averaged 23.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists this past season and shot 39.3 percent from 3-point range.

George overcame a gruesome broken leg in 2014 to reclaim his status as one of the league’s best two-way players.
