The Miami Heat are nearing agreement on a trade for salary relief by sending forward Josh McRoberts to the Dallas Mavericks, league sources told The Vertical.

Miami also plans to send a future second-round draft pick and cash considerations to Dallas, with the Mavericks sending 2016 second-round pick A.J. Hammons to the Heat, league sources said. The teams are expected to have the trade call on Friday, league sources said.

After losing out in the pursuit of All-Star Gordon Hayward, the Heat reached agreement on a deal to re-sign Dion Waiters and are now working to re-sign forward James Johnson to a long-term deal.

In a 10-year career with Portland, Indiana, the Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando, Charlotte and Miami, McRoberts, 30, has averaged 5.4 points and 3.9 rebounds.
