A Sophisticated Spin on a Traditional Blue and White Nursery
You know you've hit the nursery jackpot when both wallpaper and lucite drapery rods are part of the decor mix. This gorgeous space crafted at the hands of Jennifer Barron Interiors manages to be both classic and modern in the same breath. Perfect for a baby girl or a baby boy, get inspired to sing the blues with the full tour captured by Molly Culver.
Houston-based interior designer, Jennifer Barron, uses color, pattern, and her favorite medium (wallpaper!) to bring every room she designs to life. So, when she found out she was pregnant with her first child, she knew her nursery would be no exception. It didn't matter if she was having a boy or a girl, Jennifer immediately began dreaming of what wallpapers she could use.
The "Dawn Chorus" wallpaper by Sanderson provided the perfect balance between newborn nursery and chic so that, once Barron decided on it, the rest of the room followed suit. She enlisted The CEH to restore and customize the room's pale blue dresser, which she painted in Benjamin Moore "Blue Labrador."
Barron turned to Serena and Lily for two of the most utilized pieces in the room, the crib and rug, and found crisp blue and white linens at Restoration Hardware Baby & Home. Working closely with a local upholsterer in Houston, Jennifer made a custom daybed for the room. The room's glider is from Lee Industries, which adds another element of function to the space.
Both pieces make the room comfortable and cozy, as do the blue and white curtains that hang on lucite rods from Lux Holdups. Details like a gold rimmed mirror from Wisteria, baby animal prints from The Animal Print Shop, and a chandelier from Stray Dog Designs give the room the perfect finishing touches.
