Sony has posted two images to its Twitter feed to tease its new flagship “Honami” smartphone ahead of its debut early next month at the annual IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. The first photo shows only the handset’s power button and teases that the device’s unveiling is coming soon. The second image is a bit more revealing because it shows the phone submerged in water alongside the claim that Sony’s new smartphone is “about to make a splash.” The obvious implication is that the Honami will be water-resistant, as several other recent Sony smartphones have been. Earlier reports suggest that the Honami may launch as the Xperia i1 with specs that include a 5-inch full HD display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 20-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, a microSD slot and a battery sized somewhere between 2,700 mAh and 3,000 mAh. Both of Sony’s Honami teasers follow below.
