Sons of Guns Alum Will Hayden Sentenced to Life for Rape of Two Preteen Girls

Former Sons of Guns star Will Hayden will spend the rest of his life behind bars, The Advocate of Baton Rogue reports.

On Thursday, the reality-television alum, 51, was sentenced in a Louisiana courtroom to two life sentences in prison plus 40 more years for raping two preteen girls after he was convicted in April.

WFLA reports that Hayden will not be eligible for suspension of sentence, probation or parole.

Hayden was found guilty on April 7 for the rape of two young girls decades apart: one in the 1990s when the victim was 12 or 13, and one in 2014 when the victim was 12, according to WAFB. (The victims are now 15 and 37 years old, The Advocate reports.)

Following Hayden’s guilty verdict in April, District Attorney Hillar Moore III discussed one of the victim’s testimony at trial, saying, “This was a young child that was raped at a very young age and she chose to testify in front of the jury, in front of her abuser, and she actually threw up five times while testifying,” Moore said.

It was not immediately clear if Hayden planned to appeal his conviction and sentence.

Sons of Guns ran from 2011 to 2014, getting cancelled following Hayden’s arrest. The Discovery Channel series chronicled the Hayden’s family-owned Louisiana custom firearms business. Episodes often showed Hayden and his adult daughter, Stephanie, helping customers find weapons, including rifles. Other scenes showed the process of making the guns, images from firing ranges and ammunition tips.
