When will Sonic Drive-In open in New Hartford? Officials confirm opening
Sonic Drive-In officials confirmed plans for a new location of the popular fast-food chain in New Hartford.
“While full details are not yet available, I can confirm that a Sonic location is being developed in New Hartford, which is currently expected to open in late 2025,” Brent Reams, a Sonic spokesperson, said via email. “This will be the first Sonic location in the area.”
With the current closest location on Erie Boulevard in Dewitt, fans of the chain’s burgers, fries and retro vibes will be able to get their fix a little closer to home next year.
New Hartford Town Supervisor Paul Miscione previously confirmed that the Sonic will occupy the Dippin’ Donuts location on Seneca Turnpike, which is still open and operational at present.
“I think it's nice to see new businesses wanting to come to New Hartford,” Miscione said. “It definitely boosts our economy and gives people options for locations to dine, so it’s a plus. It brings people from other areas, too, to spend their money in New Hartford.”
